EGYPT Urges Travelers to Support Freedom!

On Friday February 18, Egyptians will march on Tahrir Square, but this time to ask tourists to return to Egypt. Their slogan is "Support Freedom, Visit Egypt!" Tourism is Egypt's largest industry. The lack of tourists over the past weeks has had a detrimental effect on the economy of Egypt. The US State Department has not yet lifted travel warnings, but hopefully they will do so soon.

Hope to see you there!

it would be the cheapest and most politically relevant trip you ever take, and the locals would be so grateful and welcoming!
the only thing is that as a lone woman, im going to have to say it: not safe. maybe a group of women?

Hi Katie! Thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right that the Egyptians would be grateful and welcoming to tourists, especially now. And although Egypt is very safe, I agree that most female visitors to Egypt would feel safer travel with a women's group tour.

Traveling with a small group of women is a great way to see Egypt! We have a tour planned for Nov 2011 and May 2012. The tour highlights the lives of Egyptian women, past and present. It is a fun and eye-opening trip.
